Symrise showcases Censo in Perfumer & Flavorist

The german company Symrise recognizes the sustainable aspect and the quality of the Censo product by publishing an article both on its website and on Perfumer & Flavorist's website. Symrise insists on the importance of preventing lavender and lavandin from the wilt disease. That is why they are supporting the technical center called CRIEPPAM, and Censo. The article shows the interest of the company, and of the sector, in a sustainable sourcing of lavender, lavandin and many other products, such as Madagascar Vanilla. It confirms the necessity of a Censo diversification towards other essential oils. It is already scheduled to commercialize Censo essential oils of clary sage and fennel in 2014.

Censo: for bees and biodiversity preservation

Good relationships between beekeepers and farmers is the guarantee of bees populations durability. That's why Censo engourage beekeepers and farmer to discuss in order to improve the Censo specifications towards more respect for bees. Negociations between beekeepers and farmers are in progress for the writing of a common chart. The aim is to encourage a fluent comunication and to list all the good practices that the two professions will have to put in place for the preservation of bees. In the future, signing this chart will be a compulsory specification for farmers for beeing part of Censo.

Censo for clary sage and bitter fennel in 2014

As the lavender and the lavandin, the clary sage is a typical culture from Provence region. It is the 3rd essential oïl production in terms of volume, after the lavender and the lavandin. In 2013, we aim to integrate the clary sage, as well as bitter fennel, to the Censo approach. In order to reach these objectives, we are adapting the spécifications for each culture. The first audits are going to take place in summer and autumn 2013 for a first harvest in summer 2014.

The CIHEF shared a stand with the FEPG at the International Exhibition of Raw Materials for Perfumery organised by the French Society of Perfumery SFP the 19th and 20th of June 2013. (http://sfp-exhibition.org/) The CIHEF made the promotion of the Censo approach and its progress since its birth in 2008. Many visitors were interested both by the quality of the essential oils samples and the elements of sustainable development.

Preparation of a film about CENSO

A new communication tool is being created: a film on the subject of Censo. Sipa presse has been retained. They will also take new photographs for the essential oils of lavender and lavandin channel. A first part was shot on 13th, 14th and 15th July 2011. The second part should be shot soon.

Xth International Exhibition of Raw Materials for Perfumery – 15th and 16th June 2011

CIHEF will take part in the Xth International Exhibition of Raw Materials for Perfumery from 15th and 16th June 2011. This new edition will be for the first time at 'l'Espace Champerret' in Paris, with a larger space and a two days exhibition. Our stand will be No 13 ("French producers"). Study of FranceAgriMer carried out by Pascal Consultants

FranceAgriMer selected the Pascal Consultants to carry out a study entitled: Assessment and prospects of the use of essential oils of lavender and lavandin from the sustainable development approach Censo by industrialist users. The purpose of a study of this type are principally:
- to draw up an inventory of existing surveys on the expectations of consumers on sustainable products,
- to identify the interests and expectations of user companies regarding the supply of natural raw materials which respect the principles of sustainable development,
- to inform industrialists of the setting up of the Censo approach. This study is planned from January to June 2011.

A Censo adviser at Bontoux SA

Among the new « SME Sustainable development » advisers to have been granted their certification recently, the person in charge of the Bontoux SA distillery, Francis Gallo, must be mentioned. He has developed a project to assist farmers in aligning with Censo specifications.
This training course was provided jointly by GEDAF and Agefos-PM and was enhanced by the active participation of Francis Gallo during audits carried out on farms near Saint Auban sur Ouvèze.
From now on, Francis Gallo will be the new protagonist to help farmers who distil their own essential oils of lavender and lavandin with Bontoux SA and also to develop the tonnage of Censo products.
