Research and technical institutions

The sector has specific research and devlopment means with two exeprimentation centres, l’Institut TEchnique Interprofessionnel des plantes à Parfum, Médicinales et Aromatiques (ITEIPMAI) and the Centre Régionalisé Interprofessionnel d’Expérimentation en Plantes à Parfum Aromatiques et Médicinales (CRIEPPAM), the latter located in the lavender and lavandin production area. The programme proposals are evaluated according to their potential impact on the sector’s competitiveness.

The Conservatoire National des Plantes à Parfum, Médicinales, Aromatiques et Industrielles (CNPMAI) has a collection of all the botanical species and varieties of lavender, lavender being classified priority plant.

The sector is also involved in a competitiveness cluster, the Pôle Parfums, Arômes, Saveurs, Senteurs (PASS) which enables it to be part of innovative projects and facilitate access to new research means and new skills.
